Return & Refund Policy

A practical guide to event cancellation, refund eligibility, platform fees, and payment-provider processing.

General Refund Policy

BookTkit sells access to events rather than physical products, so traditional product returns do not apply. Booking cancellation and refund eligibility depend on the event’s displayed policy, the organiser’s terms, the time remaining before the event, and the reason for cancellation.

Review the event page and checkout information before paying. Where there is a conflict, mandatory consumer rights under applicable law continue to apply.

Event Cancellation by Organiser

If an organiser cancels an event, affected bookings are normally eligible for a refund of the amount paid for that cancelled event, subject to verification of the cancellation and payment status. We or the organiser will communicate the available action. Material schedule or venue changes are assessed according to the event terms and applicable law; they do not automatically produce the same outcome in every case.

User Cancellation

A user may request cancellation only while the booking is eligible in the platform. The event may specify whether user cancellation is refundable, the percentage of the ticket price that may be refunded, and a no-refund window before the event. Cancelling a booking does not guarantee that money is due back if the displayed policy makes it non-refundable.

Refund Eligibility

Eligibility may depend on:

  • The event’s refundable or non-refundable setting.
  • The organiser’s stated refund percentage.
  • The cancellation deadline or no-refund window.
  • Whether the event was cancelled by the organiser or the user chose to cancel.
  • Whether the booking and payment are genuine, paid, unused, and not already refunded or disputed.
  • Any applicable legal or payment-provider requirements.

The refund preview or cancellation confirmation shown for your booking is the best available calculation for that request.

Refund Processing Timeline

Refunds are not instant. After an eligible refund is approved and successfully initiated, Razorpay or another payment provider sends it through the original payment method. Banks and payment networks control the final credit time.

Refunds commonly appear within approximately 5–10 working days after successful initiation, but this is an estimate—not a guarantee—and some banks or payment methods may take longer. Keep the refund or payment reference supplied in your confirmation for tracking.

Platform Fee Handling

For a user-initiated cancellation, the BookTkit platform or booking fee is generally non-refundable; any eligible refund is calculated from the ticket amount according to the event policy. If the organiser cancels the event, the cancellation notice and refund confirmation will state the amount being returned, which may include the booking fee where the platform’s organiser-cancellation process applies.

Failed or Duplicate Payments

A debit does not always mean a booking was confirmed. If payment fails or remains pending, wait for the booking and payment status to update before trying again. Banks and payment providers may automatically reverse a failed debit.

If you believe you were charged more than once for the same booking, contact support with the booking ID, payment references, amount, date, and the email used to book. We will verify the records and coordinate an eligible reversal or refund with the payment provider. Do not send full card details, CVV, OTP, UPI PIN, or passwords.

Non-Refundable Cases

A refund may not be available in situations including:

  • An event or ticket was clearly marked non-refundable.
  • A user cancels inside the event’s no-refund window or after the event begins.
  • The attendee does not attend, arrives late, or is denied entry for failing stated age, identification, conduct, venue, or ticket rules.
  • A QR code or ticket has already been used or cannot be validated.
  • The claim involves fraud, abuse, an unauthorised resale, or a separate chargeback or dispute.
  • Only minor programme, cast, schedule, or venue details change and the event terms do not provide a refund for that change.
